Intermediates Class
You’ve learnt the basics, and now it’s time to take things to the next level. Our intermediates class
Intermediate classes all ages
Our intermediate classes cater for students Yellow 3 - Blue 3 that have previous skills to support their training.
In these all-ages sessions, students continue to advance their technical skills in blocking, striking and kicking in more dynamic ways. We continue to explore the elements of taekwondo such as poomsae, sparring and self-defence by delving into more detail and understanding of how skills can be used.
At this level, students are introduced more to Korean terminology and competitions. Although not an essential part of our clubs ethos sparring (fighting) and poomsae (patterns) competitions are a great way for students to expand their skill level and understanding of the sport and we fully support those who choose to do so.
Take it to the next level
We pride ourselves on not only having a friendly, inclusive and supportive environment but also on having a diverse challenging teaching program.
Our students are encouraged to be the best they can be by providing top quality class content that is both engaging and challenging. Students are expected to train hard and push themselves to achieve higher rankings through commitment to multiple classes each week and personal development outside of the dojang.
At this level we offer a Junior Leadership program to students 11-17yrs. The Junior Leaders meet once a month to work on their own personal development through workshops and seminars provided by guest speakers and instructors. The idea is to help them become better people inside and outside the dojang by teaching them life skills to further themselves as they enter adulthood. In turn they also become mentors to our lower grades and serve as role models for students in class.
Your journey through the grades
Intermediates are the middle ranking belts yellow 3 - blue 3. Which usually includes 2-4 years of training. At this level students are taught the next level in hand and footwork skills, applying knowledge to their sparring, learning new poomsae and being exposed to new self-defence combat techniques. All this is taught in a safe, fun and inclusive setting by a qualified instructor.
